Whangārei Homeschooling
Sports & Movement

Movement & Foundational Skills for Whangārei Homeschoolers.

A professional, diverse PE program led by a NZ Registered Teacher and Movement Specialist. Give your child the confidence to move, the safety to explore, and a community to belong to.

Starting in March, I will be offering a Pilot-Program for 4-weeks.

The Core Concept:

This program is designed to be a "Gateway to Physical Literacy." Our goal is not for a student to master a single sport in 4 weeks, but to build a diverse "movement toolbox" they can carry for life.

By the end of the year, your child won't just have tried 8 different activities, they will have developed a physical vocabulary that allows them to walk into a gym, pool, or sports field with confidence.

Program Philosophy

Exploration Over Mastery

We aren’t just teaching sports; we are architecting physical literacy. Our program allows learners to experience a diverse range of activities, from Parkour to Water Safety, without the pressure of long-term commitment.

Benefits and Key Pillars to the Program:

🛡️ Safety First: Risk assessment and injury prevention.

🤝 Social Connection: Building the "homeschool village.

🧠 Transferable Skills: Mechanics that apply to every sport.

Diverse Exposure:

Providing a "taster" of high-quality Whangārei facilities without the long-term pressure of a single-discipline commitment.

Transferable Skills:

Focus on foundational mechanics -balance, coordination, spatial awareness, and agility-that apply to any physical activity.

Pressure-Free Environment:

Removing the "competitive" lens to allow for genuine play, curiosity, and confidence-building.

Holistic Wellbeing:

Integrating social connection and mental resilience alongside physical movement.

Meet the Architect

Hi! My name is Alicia. I am a South-African born New Zealand Permanent Resident. I have two boys of my own and my passion is empowerment through education.

I have a quite a few formal qualifications under my belt, but the most important thing to know about me is that I value kindness, collaboration, connection, education, and empowering people through movement and mindset.

Coming from both a movement science and educational background, I have seen first hand how children become empowered through movement, especially when it is movement that they particularly enjoy.

I encourage  you to talk to me if you have any questions or would like to know more about me or my background.

Here are some of my credentials that relate to this program:
